Question 2

What if I need to cancel or move my session?

Accepted Answer

Sessions can be canceled or rescheduled free of charge up to 48h in advance. If you cancel with >24h notice, the following charges are 100%. If you cancel with >48h notice advance, the following charges are 50%:
100€ incl. fee for 45- to 75-min sessions //  200€ incl. fee for 2hr sessions
I understand that life happens, but I will have saved that appointment, booked private practice space, and saved my time & attention for you, so must exercise this policy. Thank you for understanding.

I operate this policy due to the fact I'll have saved that session time and my attention for you, and will have booked space for the session that is no longer cancellable.

Question 3

What is the difference between coaching, therapy and consulting?"

Good question! This car driving analogy is a useful one...
 
In coaching, you are focused on driving. Moving. Going somewhere. You will need to occasionally look in the rear view mirror to investigate what's going on behind you, mostly to serve the purpose of helping you continue to move. The coach and client are both two co-navigating adults in the car, who understand that the main driver (the client) is in charge of leading the way, and the coach is supporting and adapting to the process of getting there.
 
In therapy or counselling, you spend more time looking in the rear view mirror. You might even get out of the car and take a walk back down the road you came from to understand what brought you here. This helps you get your journey back on track.
 
In consulting, you hire a co-driver. They define or help you choose where you want to go, and then give you advice and ideas of how to best get there. They might also take over the driving at times and do some of the work for you.
 
Coaching is not a substitute for therapy or mental health treatment.
Coaching is not about giving advice or taking control of your process.
Coaching is about supporting you to find your own movement.

What are your qualifications?

1- COACHING
The coaching industry is not regulated. Anyone can call themselves a coach.
I am an ICF-certified Life + Business Coach - trained by Barefoot Coaching in 2021.
The course is approved by University of Chester, and is accredited by the International Coaching Federation - an international body who set moral, ethical and training standards for coaches to adhere to. It is also endorsed by the National Council of Psychotherapists.

I undertake extra CPD every year, like Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Tools for Coaches with Barefoot Coaching, Mental Health First Aid with MHFA England, Relational Self Awareness with PESI.

Importantly, I also undertake monthly supervision with two supervisors (ICF and EMCC) in both group and 1:1 settings to continue developing the safety and skill of my coaching practice.
 
2- YOGA
I am a 400hr qualified, advanced yoga teacher via Stretch London / Frog Lotus Yoga.

150hr Advanced Therapeutic Yoga Teacher training. Led by 2 senior yoga teachers and a counsellor, this focused more on holding therapeutic space for students in a way that focuses on the somatic experience and the whole person - integrating what happens in a therapeutic space and outside of it in our 'real lives' in the 'outside world'.
 
The first, 250hr Vinyasa teacher training.
This was about understanding the tradition of yoga, as well as exploring how the body and movement can create more connection with or distance ourselves from freedom or intimacy with the mind/ego.
 
3- STRATEGY CONSULTANT
I have over 10 years experience working in the creative communications industry.
I have been a brand strategist in advertising agencies like RKCR, St Lukes London, 72andSunny and TBWA, working on brands like eBay, Tinder, adidas + Danone, and continue to freelance from time to time.

Question 5

How long are coaching sessions? How many do I need?

Accepted Answer

Sessions are 75-min (apart from the first session of containers, which is 2hrs, and intake sessions which are 45-minutes).

If you are new to coaching and want more intensive and continued support, I recommend that you sign up for a quarter or half year container in order to make deep and sustainable change through a season of life.

If you want a more flexible or less intensive approach, and have done coaching or something similar before, then you could go for a block of sessions that you can use any time over 12 months.

I don't live in Amsterdam. Can I work with you online?

Absolutely! Of course it is wonderful to do coaching in person, and I DO have a very mooi practice by the Amstel (check out Stories, Sarphatistraat). But doing coaching online has many other pros and offers something different to the experience that in-person doesn't.
I am more than happy to do all, some, or a few of our sessions online.
 
This is also a solution for people who either travel a lot for work, find it hard to travel to and from my practice before / during / after work, perhaps split their time between 2 cities, or simply would just prefer to do their coaching sessions online.

How do I choose a coach?

The most important thing when looking for a coach, is to find someone you click with. 
The relationship is the most important thing. Find a coach who you feel safe talking to, who you feel you can open up to, express yourself to, feel un-judged by. Find someone who you feel can create the right kind of space with you over the time you work together and gradually bring the best out of you.
 
For example, you might find a coach who has amazing business success for their clients, but that does not necessarily mean they will help you go as deep as you can go to create the best version of success for you. Listen to your intstincts of how a coach makes you feel and then trust the rest of the process to follow.

Most coaches offer trial sessions so that you can see what it feels like before investing further. Sometimes these intake sessions are free. I no longer offer free first sessions due to limited availability and because I have found it works better to have more time to talk about your situation and get in to how we could work together. Therefore, I offer a discounted 45-min try out session. Book here.

Are your coaching services covered by health insurance?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately not.
However, if you are a VAT-registered business, you can reclaim the VAT and usually expense coaching against your business.

I offer life coaching, business coaching, career coaching.
These are pretty top level though. If you work with me, you will find out that, even though you came for e.g. career coaching, you will end up talking about life, relationships, confidence etc. too. These things are all linked! 
 
My niche or expertise, is anything related to work e.g. career change, career development, work life balance, starting a business, going self employed, managing how you run your business, feeling more confident at work, balancing work with relationships, wellbeing and balance, sense of self, changes in identity due to work or lifestages, etc.
